Hello from the new Primary 4 and 5,
It has been a busy and exciting start to the year for us here
at Clydemuir!
Here are some of the things we have been learning so far,
followed by some more things we have to look forward to!
In maths we have been learning all about place value, writing
numbers in words and in digits, as well as ordering numbers. We have also been
sharpening up our addition skills.
We have been talking about our class rules. We have related
them to Our Class Charter and the rights of the child. We chose three articles
to consider. Andrew and Jennifer spoke brilliantly at assembly to explain our
charter.
We have brightened up some of our classroom walls with art by
Kandinsky, which we had to do as a group using great teamwork and counting
skills. We also got to know each other
by designing personalised t-shirts.
We have also started looking not only at Spanish but at French
too, starting with the alphabet!
We have been lucky enough to get a basketball taster on a
Monday afternoon making us even better at passing, shooting and dribbling.
In literacy we are looking at imaginative writing. At the
start of the year we did some letter writing and wrote a letter to our future
selves setting out our targets!
We are looking forward to beginning our Victorians topic. We
have a trip to New Lanark to look forward to on the 2nd of October!
Masterclasses start tomorrow! We can’t wait to improve our
skills at different activities.
Lewis says “We are a very kind class.”
Mia says “We are having a lovely time.”
Lacey says “We are a generous class.”
Rhys calls us a “helpful class.”
Come along to our first Family Friday on the 14th
to celebrate our very successful Maths Week!
