P5/6's first blog

Welcome to P5/6’s first blog. In this blog we will be telling you about things we have been doing over the past few weeks.

We have had the paints out already and we were learning about shades of colour as well as contrasting colours.  We did this by painting cats sitting on mats.  They are very colourful and unique.

We have been thinking about the Rights of the Child and we have made our class charter.  The theme is ‘The Street We Want to Live in’.  In our street we have a place of worship where anyone can go whatever their religion.  We also have a hospital where anyone can go for free medical help.  The school in our street is for all children no matter what the colour of their skin, their religion or their physical or mental ability.  The street on our charter is a very happy street.

We are reading class novels.  One is called Cliffhanger and the other is called Midnight Pirates.  So far we have found them to be very exciting and interesting.  We are looking forward to what happens next.

Our topic is about the desert and we will be doing an assembly about it on Friday, 6th October at 9.15am.  We hope you can come.

We have started learning French.  We can count up to 20 and can have a short conversation.

Au revoir from P5/6.
